A fried bologna sandwich belongs in the West Virginia comfort food conversation. Ours has earned a place on the ballot: Coal Valley Bun Works is a finalist for Best Bologna Sandwich in WV Living’s 2026 Best of West Virginia awards.

If you’ve had our fried bologna sandwich, you know why we’re excited. Warm bologna, melted cheese, and toasted bread make for a lunch that doesn’t need a fancy introduction. We’re proud to serve it here in Moundsville, and we’re grateful to everyone who helped our little shop reach the final round.
